Police Recover 3 More Unexploded Explosives, 2 Abandoned Vehicles From Ihiala Villages

Three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, and other hazardous materials were seized during a joint raid by police and the Security Joint Task Force in Ihiala, Anambra State.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Public Relations Officer for the Anambra Police Command, confirmed the operation in a statement on Saturday in Onitsha.

He explained that the raid was the result of thorough security intelligence and was executed as part of a planned and coordinated effort to dismantle a criminal camp.

The camps, located in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala Local Government Area, yielded three unexploded improvised explosives, along with two abandoned vehicles and various dangerous items, including copper wires and fuel.

Ikenga noted that Nnaghe Itam, the Anambra Commissioner of Police, has urged operatives to maintain their momentum in these operations. He reassured the citizens of Anambra of the commitment of the police and other security agencies to continue their determined effort to thwart criminal activities in the state
