Power Tussle In Ebonyi State As Gov. Nwifuru Suspends 25 Commissioners, 62 Others Without Pay

The Ebonyi state Governor Francis Nwifuru has suspended 25 commissioners in the state.

Also suspended are a total of 62 other senior government functionaries, including permanent secretaries.

Their suspension was contained in a public service announcement released on Monday by Mr Monday Uzor, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

They were slammed with suspension for boycotting a state function attended by the governor.

The affected aides were directed to proceed on one month working suspension without Salary for failure to attend an important Government Function.

“The Governor also directed that the affected officers should not sign any official document within the period of their suspension while Commissioners should hand over to their respective permanent Secretaries.

“The suspension takes immediate effect,” the statement further said.
