Bayelsa Police Seeks Public Cooperation To Reunite 70 Yr Old Woman From Abia State With Family, found Roaming In Yenagoa

The Bayelsa State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the presence of an elderly woman currently under police care at the Ekeki Police Station, Yenagoa.

Mrs Veronica Ngozi is from Ishilangwa community in Abia state,her daughter’s name is Amarachi Ngozi,last known residence of her daughter is PortHarcourt

The release by the Bayelsa state Police Command indicates that
on 29 December 2025 at about 1200hrs, an elderly woman identified as Mrs. Veronica Ngozi, estimated to be about 70 years old, was found wandering around Osiri Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by a good Samaritan who subsequently brought her to the Ekeki Police Station.

Upon her arrival, she was unable to give coherent information about herself and her whereabouts. However, today, 04 January 2026, she appeared to have recovered partially and was able to provide the following details:
• Name: Mrs. Veronica Ngozi
• Age: About 70 years
• State of Origin: Abia State
• Community: Ishilangwa, Abia State
• Daughter’s Name: Amarachi Ngozi
• Last Known Residence of Daughter: Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Efforts are ongoing to locate her family members and reunite her with them.
Members of the public who recognize her or have useful information that can assist in identifying or locating her relatives are kindly requested to report to the Ekeki Police Station, Yenagoa, or the nearest police station.
