Now, the big question is, would this affect the current Election Petition Tribunal ongoing which is extremely time bound?

Here are a few reactions from Twitter on the Topic:

Some are of the opinion that the Judges and people that offer essential services would be exempted.

Unfortunately the judiciary workers can indeed embark on a strike to press home their demands, like other workers. However this position is indeed different from judges.

Frankly this has been my ONLY worry. In fact, seems more to me like a well-hatched plan, knowing that this will be the result: a delay in the statutorily time-regulated petition. twitter.com/datsbobby/stat…

All those deemed to be in essential duties are exempted from strikes… This should not be different for those judges and staff handling election petitions, which are time bound.
