Resident Of Accuse PHED Of Illegal Disconnection Over Discriminatory Estimated Billing for Ogunka Erewu Road in Mgbuoba Axis

The authorities of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution PLC are facing a backlash over alleged disconnection of clients and use of the estimated billing system.

A client in the Rumuoke/Mgbouba axis of Obio Akpor, Nengi Abite, told our correspondent that the officials of the Gamma 1 Region, undertook an illlegal disconnection of her supply.

The client said this was even after she had paid nineteen thousand naira out of the twenty eight thousand naira estimated billing she received for the month of July 2025

The aggrieved client also said the PHED officials were involved in discriminatory practices.

The client also faulted the PHED officials for alleged undue pressure on the residents of the compound

Our correspondent reports that neither the PHED’s Head of Corporate Communications, Olubukola Ilevbare, nor the PHED Regional Manager of Gamma 1, Fred Harry, respond to enquiries
