RIVCHPP Begins Healthcare Services For Verified Rivers Pensioners

Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has announced that all pensioners of Rivers State Civil Service are to begin accessing healthcare services from 1st November 2025.

The Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, who made the announcement during the agency’s management meeting on Friday, 31st October 2025, emphasizing that based on the approval of the Hon. Commissioner for Health and the governor of the state, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, all the pensioners who had earlier filled their registration forms during the exercise have been automatically enrolled into the Rivers State Health insurance program and their Pensions ID card admits.

Dr. Agala, however, clarified that the office will send individual messages to those successfully enrolled, intimating them of the facilities they are to go to access care whenever they have the need, emphasising that whatever health services they will access is free of charge.
RIVCHPP’s Executive Secretary also announced that the enrolment is ongoing, assuring that there are a few of the pensioners whose details are not too clear but that the agency will endeavour to straighten whatever abnormalities that may be observed.
In a similar development, RIVCHPP has met with Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Rivers State branch during her State Executive Council meeting on Thursday, 30th October, 2025 at the PENSION HOUSE, Okomoko Street, D/Line to enlighten the pensioners on what the health insurance agency has done and how the pensioners can benefit from the programme starting from November 1, 2025.

RIVCHPP was represented by Mr. Seres Lekia, where chairmen of the pensioners in all the 23 local government areas of the state, were also present.
