In a bid to ensure its enrollees have easy access to health facilities, Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has accredited seven (7) new private facilities.
During the accreditation of the facilities on Wednesday, 6th August, 2026, the Executive Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer of the health insurance agency, Dr. Vetty Agala said that the agency’s interest is to ensure that Rivers residents get ease of access to facilities to get quality and affordable healthcare services.
The Executive Secretary, represented by the Head of Standards and Quality Assurance in RIVCHPP, Pharm. Bona Vopnu stated that accreditation visits provide opportunity to ascertain a facility’s level of competence and compliance with laid down standards for providing quality, safe, and effective healthcare for RIVCHPP’s enrollees.
Dr. Agala further stated that most of the health facilities visited demonstrated strengths in infrastructure, staffing, and service delivery.
RIVCHPP’s Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer then announced that though the agency has already accredited on its stable 50 private health facilities, 207 primary health care centres, 24 General Hospitals, and the 3 teaching hospitals across the state, the agency would continue to accredit more top-notch health facilities to continue to provide quality healthcare for its enrollees.
