Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), in its avowed interest of ensuring that Rivers residents continue to benefit from healthcare services maximally through the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) of the federal government, has made public a timetable for the registration of all its enrollees under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).
It would be recalled that the health insurance agency threatened to delist its enrollees without the national identification number (NIN), which is a prerequisite for enjoying services provided under BHCPF, as directed by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Rather than fully implement the threat of delisting those withoutNIN, RIVCHPP management, in line with fulfilling the #Health4AllRivers mandate of the state government, had gone to liaise with National Identification Management Commission (NIMC) to see to it that registration officers move from one health facility to another to register the NINless enrollees.
The timetable, now made public, signed by the Executive Secretary of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala, stated that NIMC officials have started moving from facility to facility to register the enrollees already enjoying healthcare services under BHCPF who do not have NIN at the time of enrolment.
Meanwhile, all heads of facilities providing healthcare services for enrollees of RIVCHPP under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) have been directed to continue to allow all enrollees, with or without NIN, to continue to access care till the end of December, 2025, as the agency is making concerted efforts to see that more machines are arranged to fastrack registration of NINless enrollees by NIMC officials.
In the meantime, the timetable released for the exercise, which began on Tuesday, 21st October, 2025, at Model Primary Health Centre, Ozuboko Ama, in Port Harcourt Local Government Area will continue till the 2nd day of November, 2026.
According to the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, the timetable for other local government areas will soon be made public to accommodate all enrollees getting registered before the timeline of December December 2025.
The current timetable, which takes care of only facilities in 2 local government areas, is as follows: Port Harcourt City Local Government Area from 27/10/2025 – 12/11/2025; Obio/Akpor 13/11/2025 – 17/12/2025;
Dr. Agala, the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP further directed all affected enrollees, and all other residents of the state who have not gotten their NIN to make themselves available at the stated dates, at the enlisted health facilities, throughout the 23 LGAs of the State to register for their NIN.
