Rivers Pensioners Lament Stoppage Of Monthly Gratuity Payment By Sole Administrator

Pensioners in Rivers state has lamented the stoppage of the monthly 2 billion naira Gratuity payment as previously released by the suspended Governor Sim Fubara since the sole Administrator assumed office.

The state secretary of the Nigeria union of pensioners comrade Dr Joseph Agbo in an interview with our correspondent stated that though the monthly pension is paid but that the sole Administrator Ibas Ibok has stopped the Monthly payment of 2 billion Gratuity to the retirees to assuage the suffering of Pensioners owed over 200 Billion

The state secretary Of the Nigeria and union of pensioners Rivers State branch Dr Joseph Agbo also confirmed that since the inception of democracy in 1999. Rivers State pensioners have been stagnated with pension increments as all previous administrations have refused to do any form of consequential adjustments to pension despite several minimum wage increases which has made Rivers State pensioners very poor compared to other states

They appeal to the sole Administrator to pay up. Or at least maintain what is on ground As the government is continuous since the payment is ongoing.
