Rivers Police Denies Sealing RSIEC Office, Explains Proactive Measures Presence On Aba Road

The Rivers State Police Command on Tuesday denied sealing office of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission in PortHarcourt.

Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent of Police,SP Grace Iringe Koko reacting to publication by some online platforms that the office of RSIEC was sealed by the Police,clarified that the Police officers seen at the RSIEC office were posted to the place on the directive of Commissioner of Police to protect the facility against any attack during the ongoing nation wide protest in PortHarcourt, on Tuesday 1st October,2024

SP Koko also revealed that there is no iota of truth in the allegation peddled in some social media platforms that the Police assaulted and beat up some protesters.

Recall that RSIEC had fixed 5th October,2024 to conduct Local Government Area Elections.
