Rivers State Govt Unveils Solarized Walk-In Coldroom, Vaccines Vial Crusher, Operational Vehicles, Motorcycle For Disease Surveillance In LGAs To RSPHCMB

The Rivers State government has commissioned a newly installed Solarized Walk-In Coldroom. Vaccine Vial crusher, 9 operational Hilux vehicles and 10 motorcycle for disease surveillance in the local government area’s.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Solarized Coldroom chain equipment, commissing the Rivers State Governor said the health of Rivers People and Residents are top priority to his administration and crucial in achieving sustainable health deliveries across all levels.

The Governor Represented by the deputy Governor, Prof Nma Ngozi Ordu said governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has invested massively in the health sector, as a pledge to protect your health, by promoting all primary care workers who were stagnated for the past Eight years, Employment of health workers to breach the huge gap of shortage of healthcare personnel across it’s primary and secondary healthcare facilities within the 23 local government area in the state.

She said to whom much is given, much is also expected and Urge the primary health care workers to put the equipment to good use for the betterment of all and Sundry In achieve Sustainable healthcare intervention according to world health standard.
She hailed the board for winning back to back the zonal healthcare management competition. And Urge them to work harder to win the 2025 competition by putting in their best.
“We appreciate you all because we are seeing the results, I was so delighted in holding that dummy cheque for the second time and I said up Rivers, I am glad that our staff are so committed and let’s double our efforts to make sure we receive the cheque for a third time. As we commission this equipment, I urge our dedicated health workers to utilize this facilities. This tool representative the commitment of our government to supporting your noble ventures. Sir Siminalayi Fubara has promoted, provided tools for you to work with, so what you owe in return is to put in your best.

In his welcome address at the RSPHCMB Unveiling and hand over of 9 operational Vehicles, 10 motor bikes Etc the Executive Secretary of the Board, Prof Kinikanwo Green said the walking cold room is one of the best in Nigeria this will take care of all our vaccines and make sure they are kept in good temperatures, we will not give any vaccine that is not good, that is the essence of this important Solarized Coldroom being unveiled today.
We are also commissioning nine vehicles, motorcycle here, for states immunization officers, disease surveillance officers, head of special duties for monitoring and supervision. As you all know the importance of operational vehicles especially in the local government area, this vehicle will help the medical Officers of health in the supervision of primary healthcare activities, and the motorcycle will help our medical Officers to collect samples without hindrance and also to go through nooks and crannies of various LGAs ensuring that every body comes to work, vaccines are well situated and all that. And of course we also have vehicles for immunization, there is what we call PUSH” this vehicle will help us to send immunization to various LGAs to ensure that our people are well immunized, well vaccinated and of course Diseases will be stamped out of our state” This also falls in line with our governor Sir Amaopu Siminalayi Fubara who has given us all the supports that we need in promoting universal health coverage in our dear state and Nigeria.

In their goodwill messages from partners at the venue, WHO Rep, Dr Kolude Olufunmilola, is the WHO South South zonal Coordinator. Thanked the River State government for the huge investment in the Solarized Walk-In Coldroom will tackle the issues of constant power failure and reduce the expenditures in generating other power sources.she said WHO in partnership with the board will ensure the walk-in cold room used in storage of vaccines are stored within safe temperature ranges.”

Also speaking at the RSPHCMB The Chief Field officer UNICEF Rivers, Dr Anslem Audu also expressed gratitude to the governor for his thoughtful investment in ensuring that every child, Citizens receive quality healthcare and ensure that vaccines are stored within acceptable temperature ranges.

For his part the
Chairman of the Board Prof Blessings Jaja thanked the local government chairman for being part of the program and enjoyed them to monitor the use of the equipment and assured that the equipment would be used for the enhancement of the primary health care at the rural area and secondary healthcare level. He also expressed gratitude to the governor for also taking the issues of the welfare of primary care workers by prompt promotion of health workers and employment of brand new qualified health officials in the State.
In her remarks the permanent Secretary Rivers State ministry of Health Dr Comfort Nmakele Igwe said the high quality cold room chain will enable health workers to deliver life saving vaccines to every child in perfect condition.
