Super Eagles Boss, Eric Chelle Demands 80% Pay Hike To Remain As Head Coach

Eric Chelle has reportedly requested a new monthly salary of $100,000 to remain head coach of the Super Eagles following Nigeria’s bronze medal finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

According to reports, sources close to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed that the Franco-Malian tactician is seeking an increase of more than 80 per cent on his current earnings since taking charge in 2024.

Chelle’s demand comes after Nigeria secured third place at the 2025 AFCON, a campaign widely viewed as a strong showing despite falling short of lifting the trophy.

The Super Eagles’ performance has intensified calls for the federation to secure his long-term future with improved contract terms.

Appointed in 2024 on a two-year deal, Chelle has one year remaining on his current contract.
