Tragedy As GUO Bus Traveling From Lagos Collides With Another Bus, Burst Into Flames, Leaves 30 Persons Burnt To Death

No fewer than thirty passengers lost their lives in a tragic auto crash in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, as their vehicle was engulfed in flames, burning them to death.

The incident occurred on Saturday, when two commercial buses had a head-on collision and burst into flames at the Onipetesi axis along the Ore/Lagos Expressway

We gathered that one of the Buses said to be GUO Motors bus traveling from Lagos was involved the fatal accident, resulting in a devastating fire that claimed the lives of about 24 passengers.

An eye witness said not less than 32 passengers involved in the accident, 28 were burnt beyond recognition while two survivors rescued with serious injuries died before getting to the hospital.

Two other passengers are still receiving treatment.

According to sources, the accident was caused by excessive speeding on the part of the drivers.

While confirming the incident, the Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, said a preliminary investigation showed one of the vehicles driving against traffic.

Ibitoye, who urged drivers to exercise caution, ensure proper vehicle maintenance and avoid reckless driving, encouraged passengers to speak out against unsafe driving practices, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility.
