UK Releases Names of Deceased Nigerians with Unclaimed Assets

The United Kingdom has officially released a list of deceased Nigerians with unclaimed assets, detailing their names, dates of birth and death, as well as their places of death. The disclosure aims to inform potential beneficiaries and next of kin about assets left behind by these individuals, which remain unclaimed under UK law.

The list includes prominent and lesser-known Nigerians who passed away in various parts of the UK, with some dating as far back as the 1990s. Among those named are:

Arbel Aai’Lotta’Qua Abouarh (Died: 5/2/1998, Chiswick, London W4)

The list features individuals from various regions of Nigeria, including Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Calabar, and Yola. Some of the deceased were recorded as bachelors, widows, or spinsters, indicating that they may not have direct heirs.

UK authorities have urged relatives or legal representatives of the deceased to come forward to claim the assets. Failure to do so within a stipulated period could result in the assets being transferred to the British government under the Bona Vacantia (ownerless property) laws.
