ANSIEC had on Friday told journalists that the election would commence by 8am and close by 4pm, but as at 8:50am, officials were yet to arrive the polling units in most parts of the state.
Areas visited by our correspondent showed no sign of election going to hold in such areas.
Polling units visited included Aroma ward 3, Odoagba ward one and another polling unit at Unizik junction.
In Iyiowa/Odekpe polling units in Ogbaru Local Government Area, an observer, Mr Agbo Kenneth Chidiebere, told journalists that nothing had commenced, including arrival of officials.
“No ANSIEC Ad-hoc staff, security personnel or electoral materials have arrived at the polling unit. Only one party agent from APGA is here at the moment,” he said.
