What Police Said About Viral Video Of Its Officers Beaten To A Pulp After Ballot Box Snatching

The Nigerian Police Force Spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted to the video of its officer beaten to a pulp over the alleged snatching of ballot boxes at a polling unit in Imo State.

The police officer, alongside others, attached to a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeduru Local Government Area, was rough-handled by community youths.

They were said to have been instructed by the politician to snatch ballots at Amakohia Ikeduru Collation Center, where APC lost, but the community youths caught one while others took to their heels.

In a post via X, Adejobi said the issue would be taken seriously as it bothers the integrity of the Police Force and the capability of its members to maintain election integrity.

He assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted.
