Why Nigerians Don’t Announce Travelling Out: Man Who Celebrated About To Japa On Facebook, Dies 22 Hours Before Departure

In what amounted to a twist of fate, a young man Ugochukwu Okpani who, a day before, celebrated his imminent departure abroad for further studies died the next day, the day he was supposed to travel.

Ever since the news broke, social media has been thrown into a state of shock and disbelief.The young man, Ugochukwu Okpani took to Facebook on Thursday, 18 May to announce that he had less than 22 hours to travel abroad to study International Relations.However, Okpani never woke up from sleep on Friday, 19 May, the day he was supposed to embark on his journey abroad in search of the golden fleece.He was supposed to undergo a Master’s degree programme.
