Political commentator Gbadamosi Babatunde has criticized the newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, describing his first assignment as a complete and unqualified failure.
In a post shared on X, Babatunde reacted to the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council election, which was laced with electoral practices in different polls.
Addressing Amupitan directly, Babatunde wrote, “Your first assignment is a complete, unqualified failure.”
He further pointed that the new INEC chairman was “exactly like” Bola Tinubu, who appointed him to head such office.
“You are exactly like the corrupt @officialABAT that appointed you to @inecnigeria,” Babatunde stated.
The commentator went to state that Amupitan’s legacy would be negatively defined by his role in the conduct of the FCT election, asserting that his story will be remembered as the fantastically corrupt Nigerian electoral umpire.
“Just know that every single one of your previous achievements in life will no longer count.
“You will now only be defined and remembered as just another fantastically corrupt Nigerian electoral umpire,” he said.
He went on to state that his story will be thrown into the dustbin and cesspit of the dark ages of Nigerian history while his generation will not forget in a hurry the role he played in the oppression of Nigerians.
“Your story will now be consigned to the dustbin and cesspit of the dark ages of Nigerian history.
“Your generations will never be allowed to forget your ignoble role in the affliction and oppression of the people of Nigeria,” he added.
