Today at the State secretariat of the Kaduna State NUJ a press conference was held by a group of senatorial aspirants who were dissatisfied with the conduct of the May 18th 2026 APC PRIMARIES.
The spokesperson of the group Yusuf Bala Ikara complained bitterly about the entire process which did not follow the lay down procedures of the party. Such primary too, should be conducted in the presence of the representative of INEC, without which the outcome of such election is null and void. Noting that the absence of the umpire is making them to call for the cancellation of the primaries and a fresh one be conducted following all the rules of engagement.
The aspirants included Senator Danjuma Laar, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani representing Zone Two and Yusuf Bala Ikara.
According to Senator Danjuma La’ar the exercise was shrouded with various forms of irregularities and total disrespect to laid down rules governing election conduct.
He contended that the primary election was wrongly conducted to favour the interest of some selfish individuals and groups.
Failure to heed their call, they will have no option than to head for the court.
A large throng of women and men supporters carried placards condemning the conduct of the primaries which they said was dissatisfactory.
