5 Escapes As Police Confirms Kidnap Of NYSC Members From Ondo Camp Returning To Rivers State

Less than 48hours after Emuhua LGA Chairman  Dr. Chidi Lloyd declared Onuigwe Nwodi wanted, over alleged  kidnapping, Armed robbery, some corps were abducted on their way to Porthacourt at Rumuji axis of Emohua LGA even as the Police say some have been rescued.

The interesting aspect is this kidnap’s is that the LGA Boss said he will not pay the Local Vigilance group, ELMOVIS until the wanted man is captured dead or alive.

The kidnapped  members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who just passed out from Orientation Camp in Ondo were abducted on Tuesday at about 9pm on their way to Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

An eyewitness whose sister-in-law was among the kidnapped corps called into a Port Harcourt based radio station on Wednesday morning to confirm the incident.

He said the Corps members were abducted along the Rumuji axis of the East-West Road in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He said five of the corps members were able to escape and reported at the Rumuji Divisional Police Station.

The Spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko said that some of the corps members have been rescued while efforts are on to rescue the remaining corps members.

It would be recalled that Dr. Chidi Lloyd, the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area on Monday declared one Nwodi Onuigwe who is suspected to be the kidnap kingpin and cult leader in the are where the Corps members were abducted wanted.

He also announced N1 million prize for any person who give information that could lead to his capture dead or alive.

Lloyd also announced the the stoppage of the salaries of the Emohua Vigilante Service, EMOVIS until the kingpin and his gang members who he alleged are behind illegal oil bunkering, armed robberies, kidnapping and attack on security agencies in the area are arrested.
