Tragedy As Unknown Gunmen Kills Police Officer By Marine Base Junction, Port Harcourt Township Area

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon has ordered for immediate clampdown and arrest of unknown gunmen who shot Police officer dead around Marine base junction, PortHarcourt on Good Friday,April 7,2023.

The Public Relations Officer of the command,SP Grace Iringe Koko in an interview with our reporter said the Commissioner of Police,CP Effiong Okon has deployed tactical teams and other intelligence unit with a view to arresting the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to justice.

Recall that there was pandemonium around Marine base junction when unknown gunmen attacked a Police checking point,shot and killed one of the officers on duty on Good Friday.The motive for the attack has not also been established .As at the time of filing the report, normalcy has returned to the area as residents and passersby are going about their normal business without molestation or harassment.
