Obio-Akpor LG Chairman Announce Reopening Of Oginigba Market, Revokes Land Seized by The Wike Administrator

The Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, has revoked a land that was previously seized by former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

The land, which had been forcefully taken from the Oginigba community during Wike’s tenure, has now been returned to its rightful owners.
As part of the move, Ihunwo also officially reopened the Oginigba market, which had been closed under Wike’s administration. The market holds a key role in the local economy, providing a vital hub for commerce in the area. Its closure had caused significant disruptions for traders and residents. In a statement shared by the Chairman, he said, “I have officially reopened Oginigba market that was closed by Wike and their land was taken from them.”

Eastwestreporters at Pres time cannot confirm if the land revocation includes the piece of edifice where a shopping mall hyper city is located along the Oginigba slaughter road .(The mall is said to have links with FCT Minister as investments)
