The 2026 Physical and Credential Screening Exercise is currently on at the Port Harcourt Civic Center, located on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This comprehensive exercise, which commenced on March 9th, is scheduled to run daily until April 18th, 2026, providing ample opportunity for all eligible applicants to participate.
The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, PSC, mnips, personally addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of equal opportunities for all applicants. He stressed that every candidate has an equal right to be selected, and as such, the process must be fair, transparent, and free from any form of corruption or malpractice. The Commissioner reiterated the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, urging all stakeholders involved in the exercise to ensure professionalism, integrity, and fairness throughout the screening process.
The recruitment team, responsible for overseeing the exercise, is led by a team of senior police officers, including ACP Okere Daniel, Ad-hoc Panel Head; ACP Izibili Victor; ACP DR. Ahunanya Chukwudi, the Command Medical officer; CSP Grace IRINGE-KOKO, PPRO; SP Ohamara Mgbonye; SP Adegbe Peter; ASP Chidiebere Jacob; and ASP Captain Ogbuewe representative of POCACOV. These officers are working in conjunction with representatives from the Police Service Commission, Character Commission, Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the exercise is conducted efficiently and effectively.
In his address, the Commissioner advised applicants to maintain orderliness and decorum throughout the exercise, reminding them that the screening process is completely free of charge. He urged applicants to report any attempts at extortion or unprofessional conduct by any officer involved in the process, assuring them that such reports would be thoroughly investigated and addressed accordingly.
The exercise is being conducted in a secure environment, with the Provost team ensuring strict compliance with the Commissioner’s directives. The screening process is progressing smoothly, with all necessary measures in place to guarantee the integrity and credibility of the exercise. Applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the process, assured of a fair and transparent evaluation.
