CP Echeng Commends Security Agents On Election Duty, Assures Of Commitment To Continuous Security

The Commissioner of Police on Election Duty at the Rivers State Police Command, CP Echeng E. Echeng, and other Heads of Security Agencies in the State have visited some polling units in the Port-Harcourt metropolis and other parts of the state in a bid to ensure that the conduct of the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Elections runs smoothly.

While commending the security agents posted on duty at the various polling units visited, CP Echeng expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of voters and INEC officials at the polling units as both security personnel and electoral officers deployed for the exercise reported that their respective areas are calm.

The Commissioner of Police expressed the commitment of the Command to ensure the security of residents in the State during the vote counting and declaration of election results. He emphasized that necessary security measures have been emplaced to ensure that the process is conducted safely and securely, and in a peaceful manner. Similarly, the CP noted that additional security personnel are on standby to respond to any emergency situation.
