New Born Baby Dumped At Waste Bin To Die Rescued In Diobu

A new born baby left at the mercy of death at waste bin in front of Mile 3 Park, Diobu Porthacourt was rescued early morning Friday by Vigilante group.

In an interview with our reporter Comrade Godstime Ihunwo, the Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu Oroworukwo community, Mile 3 Diobu under the Diobu Vigilante said

“At about 3am this morning Friday morning 28th April 2023 while on routine patrol I discovered a new born baby which is less than 6 hours old .As at the point of discovery the baby was still wrapped with clothes and placenta.

“I rescued the child and immediately called a female nurse for urgent medical attention to be given to the baby.Upon inspection by the nurse, the baby was discovered to be a female .

“I called Prince Wiro,a Human Rights Activist who immediately cake to my office and accomplained to Nkpolu Police station to make a formal compliant.

“I want to use this medium to appeal to the Rivers State Government to prevail on the contractors in charge of Ikwerre road street lights to ensure the lights are always on at night as we have discovered that the street light are switched off some night”.

In the meantime,Prince Wiro coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has condemned the action of the unknown mother who left the new born baby at the mercy of death.

Mr Wiro described the action of the unknown mother as inhumane, callous and barbaric.

The Rights Activist advised young females who think they cannot take care of a child after giving birth to seek help by approaching the relevant Government Ministry incharge of children welfare rather than throwing away the baby.
