The Rivers State Police Command has taken into custody a lady simply identified as Marvelous, female lover of a male barber popularly known as Otubong who died in alleged sex romp last week Friday at Osina Street, Mile 2 Diobu Porthacourt, We gathered.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed to our correspondent that the lady who was said to have fled after the death of the Barber is now in Police custody.
The Police spokesperson however did not give the name of the female suspect .
A source which pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the female lover of the Barber turned herself in to the Police two days after the incident.
Recall that a source told our reporter that two empty black bullet energy drinks, substance suspected to be tramadol and Viagra were recovered at the scene by the Police.
In the meantime, a Human Rights Group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has urged the the Police to carry out investigation without stigmatization of the lady.
Vice Chairman of the organization Afudoza Jennifer Stephens Esq, in an interview with our Correspondent said
“We demand that the Police should thoroughly investigate the case of the Barber who died after alleged sex romp with the lady as being speculated .
“We urged the Police to carryout their investigation without victimization of the lady who will understand is now in the custody of the Police.
“You know she is an adult and there is no law in Rivers State that criminalizes an adult who engages in a relationship or love affair with another adult.
“For the fact that the Barber who was the male lover of the lady died in an Alleged Sex romp as being insinuated does not mean the lady should be stigmatized.
“Only discrete investigation will prove if she is culpable in the death of the Barber .We equally demand that she should be released immediately if investigation shows she is not culpable”
