Re-Killers Of Late Ahoada DPO: Cult Kingpin Had Many Informants Which Was A Challenge In Tracking Him Down- Rivers CP Reveal

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu has revealed that Gift David aka 2Baba the Iceland cult leader who was the prime suspect in the killing of SP Bako Angbashim, Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of Ahoada Police Division had many informants which was one of the challenges of security agents in tracking him down.

CP Disu made the disclosure when executives of Orashi National Congress(ONC) comprising of members from Orashi region Abua/Odual, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Areas of Rivers State paid a visit last week Friday to thank the Police command for tracking and killing the wanted kingpin 2Baba.

The Rivers Police Boss said late 2Baba had many informants to the extent that the cult leader knows when a new person enters Ahoada. CP Disu stated that nobody will kill anybody let alone a Police Officer and go scout free.

On the appreciation by the group, CP Disu said the Police was just doing their work to ensure the perpetrators of such dastardly act are brought to book while opining that the appreciation to the Police Command will spur his officers to do more. CP Disu asserted that the officers under his command also played major role to ensure the culprits and his gang were brought to book.

The Rivers Police Boss explained that while people thought the case of 2Baba has be forgotten, the Police was working on daily basis without making noise to ensure his arrest.

CP Disu said on December 31st,2023 while people were in their homes the Police were in the forest where they had an encounter with the gang leader who ran deeper into the forest until 17th February,2024 when he was eventually killed.

CP Disu thanked Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara for always putting them on their toes to capture the notorious gang leader. He equally thanked the Inspector General of Police(IGP) Kayode Egbetokun for his fatherly advice all through the manhunt for the gang leader as well as his former team, Intelligence Response Team and the Nigeria Airforce.

He assured that the command will do everything within its capacity to ensure peace and security is sustained in the LGA and Rivers State at large.

Comrade Emeni Ibe, President General of the group during the visit thanked CP Disu for keeping to his word that he will leave no stone unturned to bring the killers of the DPO to book .Mr Ibe disclosed that the orashi people are very happy with the feat achieved by CP Disu, hence the visit to show appreciation.

Mr Ibe equally commended all the Divisional Police Officers(DPOs),Area Commanders, officers in all Police Divisions in the four orashi LGAs for their role in ensuring 2Baba was brought to justice.

The President General of ONC commended the Inspector General of Police, for sending CP Disu to Rivers State describing him as God sent .

Mr Ibe also commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his role towards ensuring protection of life and property in the orashi region and the state at large .
