Skit Maker, Sabinus Opens Up, After Ransom Payment To Kidnappers To Secure His Father’s Release

Nigerian skit maker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, aka Sabinus, recently trended online after reports about his father being abducted went viral. Sabinus has broken his silence following his father’s abduction in Rivers state.

Recall that Sabinus’ dad was abducted on Tuesday night, July 9, 2024.

The heist happened between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Mr Ejekwu was kidnapped by some armed men on his return to his home in Port Harcourt after a trip outside the Rivers state.

As he was trying to enter his house in Port Harcourt, the elderly man was intercepted and carted away. Still, during their escape, a gun battle between the kidnappers and the local security forces erupted.

The local security outfit, which was identified as Ospac, lost one of its members during the exchange with the armed kidnappers.

The Nigerian comic has previously expressed his fondness for his father.

He also shared that his father is the reason he took up comedy as a profession. Skit maker,

Reacting to the incident, Sabinus noted that ransom was paid for his father’s freedom.

While appreciating God for the release of his father, the skit maker in a post on his Instagram page did not reveal the amount demanded for the ransom.

He said, “Kidnappers who kidnapped my father could still watch my content and laugh; life is like that. But we thank God for providing it; otherwise, I would have been so sorry. Thank you, Lord.”
