Tinubuโ€™s Minister Threatens To Resign, Quit Party If?

In a dramatic turn of events, Yusuf Ata, the minister of housing and urban development, has declared that he will step down if the current APC state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, is re-elected.

Speaking at a press conference in Kano on Monday, Mr Ata made it clear that his resignation would encompass both his ministerial position and his membership in the party.

He said, โ€œThis is my position to this day. We oppose the reinstatement of the current APC leadership in Kano, given what happened in the last election.

โ€œWe will not accept this situation again. If the leadership remains, I will resign from my ministerial post and leave APC.

Mr Ata emphasised his strong moral values and respect for elders, noting, โ€œWe will not compromise our values.โ€

He expressed concerns over the party leadershipโ€™s statements, which he believed contributed to the partyโ€™s failure in 2023.

โ€œWe must engage individuals of integrity to gain the trust of Kano citizens,โ€ Mr Ata stressed.

He said, โ€œVotes and money do not grant power; only God bestows authority.โ€

Mr Ata urged politicians from all parties to promote peace, respect each other, and follow the rules.
