Police Disrupt Health Event With Teargas: Chase Pregnant Women, Nursing Mother Out of Eliozu Primary Healthcare Center

There was pandemonium on Wednesday morning as Some health workers in Rivers state were chased out from the venue of the flagg off maternal and child health care week with teargas at Eliozu primary Healthcare Center in Obio Akpor LGA while trying to carryout a free medical outreach by  Primary Health Care Management Board in collaboration with World Health, UNICEF

Our correspondent reports that Police on an alleged directive came in about 10 vans to the venue of the centre teargas both pregnant women , children, aged men and women, nursing mothers and the health officials. Journalist were also not speared.

Our correspondent reports that the police officers blocked people from having access into the health centre and later dispersed the little crowd that have gathered at the venue with teargas.

Meanwhile the Rivers state police Public Relation officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko is yet to confirm the attack to our correspondent when contacted.
