The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar has announced that it is exploring strategic arrangements to facilitate the assisted departure of its nationals by road as the regional security situation continues to evolve.
In an official update issued from Doha on March 8, 2026, the diplomatic mission stated that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of Ghanaians currently residing in the Gulf nation.
Following a previous notice issued on March 6, 2026, the Embassy confirmed it is now investigating viable land routes for those seeking to leave the country.
The Embassy, however, urged all Ghanaian nationals who urgently wish to leave to register their interest immediately.
“The Embassy wishes to inform that it is making arrangements for assisted departure options for Ghanaians seeking to leave Qatar by road. Anyone who urgently wishes to leave is kindly requested to indicate their interest by email to doha@mfa.gov.gh,” the statement read.
United States and Israel launched unprovoked attack across Iran on February 28, justifying the action was to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapon and curb its ballistic missile programs.
Iran denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and retaliated by launching a barrage of missiles at Israel and U.S. military facilities in Gulf states, including Qatar.
In a related development, the Iranian Red Crescent has formerly petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate military attacks on civilian targets within Iran, by United States and Israel, alleging significant damage to residential areas and medical facilities.
