RIVCHPP Intensifies Effort To Ensure Enrollees Continue To Enjoy Healthcare Quality Services

Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), the state health insurance agency, is intensifying efforts to see to it that its enrollees continue to enjoy the quality healthcare services it promised its clients.

The Executive Secretary, Dr Vetty Agala who was represented by the Head, Standards and Quality Control Pharm. Bona Vopnu made the declaration at the end of a quality assessment visit to some selected Basic Health Care Provision Fund health facilities on Tuesday, 23rd June, 2026.
The visit, took RIVCHPP’s team to Primary Health Centre, Erema, Model Primary Health Centre, Akabuka, Model Primary Health Centre, Oboburu, and Model Primary Health Centre, Omoku, all in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the team lead, the routine visit was to help the agency to evaluate compliance with established healthcare standards and to assess the quality of services provided to RIVCHPP’s enrollees.

Pharm. Vopnu reiterated that the visit, which the agency hopes to intensify the more, helped the agency to assess the quality of healthcare services being delivered, evaluate compliance with BHCPF standards and guidelines, and to identify areas requiring improvement.

In the course of the visit, the RIVCHPP team reviewed facility operations, checked on the availability of essential medicines and equipment, records keeping practices, infrastructure, and service delivery status and processes.

Enumerating more on the visit, the SQA Director, said that the vidit also provided an opportunity for RIVCHPP to engage with facility staff, offer technical support, and strengthen accountability mechanisms to ensure the continued provision of quality, accountable and efficient Primary Health Care services in the communities.

Pharm. Vopno who gave valuable insight promised that the agency would give prompt attention to addressing the identified gaps and challenges.
