NSCDC Dr Ahmed Audi Scores High On Professionalism, Rule of Law, Zero Tolerance For Corruption

A youth organisation in the Niger delta, the South south youth Initiative has commended the efforts of the commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for driving the mandate of the corps with utmost sense of professionalism and respect for rule of law

The National president of South-South Youths Initiative Saviour Oscar Imeabe at a press conference in port Harcourt noted that the CG Dr Ahmed Audi has done well in the areas of the agency core mandate of fighting Pipeline vandalism and other critical government infrastructures.

The full text of the briefings reads thus:

As a responsible organization whose interest is on good governance, accountability, transparency and equity in the nation, we reward and commend excellence commitment to service by public office holders.in the same vein, we condemn and backlash public office holders who misappropriate the powers given to them for their selfish gain.

Today, we are very pleased to state that the country is in tandem with the approaches in which the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, MNI, OFR, is taking in keeping to the mandate of the Corps as provided in the Act establishing the corps.

We are optimistic that considering the vision of the CG and the steps he has already taken to ensuring that the mandates of NSCDC are fully implemented and achieved as enshrined in the Act establishing the Corps, with the support the Corps is already getting from His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr Ahmed Audi has since his assumption of office as the Commandant General empowered officers and men of the Corps to carry out their operations uninterruptedly. This is because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the Corps unlimited supports they require to function in all ramifications.

CG Ahmed Audi is a man that has respect for the Rule of Law and has zero tolerance for corruption. He has always operated within the ambits of the law without fear or favour. Notable among his achievements as the CG of NSCDC, we wish to recount but these few:

We want to commend the efforts of the CG in keeping sanity in the corps, maintaining and ensuring professional conduct among men and officers and promoting decency in the security formations. We are proud that with men like CG Audi that the nation is on the part of getting it right in the area of security. There is the growing need that people like CG Audi should be given more opportunities to function in public offices if we must get to our Canaan Land.

We have carried out series of investigations on the CG and his activities in Office as the Commandant General of NSCDC, and as a responsible organization that deals with facts and not rumours or hearsay, we can state CG Audi need to be commended for his hardwork and commitment.

We made bold to recount out of his numerous achievements few of the following;

That under the leadership of Audi as the CG of NSCDC 34 Rifles were recovered from criminals in Imo State in December, 2021.

That he has ensured due respect for Federal Character in the appointment and posting of state commandants. These was not give attention by his predecessors, but he has ensured that all parts of the nation are given equal attention, professionalism.

That he has worked assiduously in the fight against oil theft and illegal oil bunkering. The menace has reduced especially in South South and south East

That he has eliminated the soot that was disturbing Rivers state and other states of Niger Delta as a result of the success against illegal bunkering in the area.

That he has ensured the regular payment of salaries and Payment of salary arrears owed men and officers of the corps before his assumption of office. He was able to ensure the payment of backlog of over N300 million to families of deceased and wounded officers of the corps. This is commendable.

That he has ensure regular promotion of personnel based on federal character. He also worked for the establishment of Training Schools for carrier progression, especially the command and staff college Jos.

That before this time people lobby for promotion, but he Eliminated this I’ll act and has maintained that only officer and men who stand on merit are promoted or posted to areas where their services are need for utmost performance of the corps on its task.

Like mentioned above, we reemphasize that he has Eliminated of Nepotism, Tribalism and favoritism in posting of personnel to South-South States, especially, Rivers State command.

That he is the only Commandant General who posted South-South, South-East and South-West indigenous Commandants to South-South states.

That he has ensured the training and retraining of personnel in all areas of NSCDC core mandates.

That he has ensured Supplying of credible actionable, useable intelligence to the Federal government in the war against insurgency and banditry, etc.

That he also ensured the building of state command HEADQUARTERS, of Gombe, Kebbi States and others. He has performed tremendously well.

To this very end we are thankful to the Almighty God for the vision of the CG that has immensely repositioned the Corps for better security service delivery to the nation.

We, however, call on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to approve all necessary entitlements required for the smooth running of the NSCDC.
