Oyetola Wins At Tribunal As Adeleke Heads To Appeal Court

The Election Petition Tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume has sacked Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Justice Tetsea Kume in a landmark judgement declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not follow properly with the Constitution and the provisions of the Electoral Act.

He subsequently deducted the over-voting observed from the votes scored by the candidates and declared that Oyetola won the election, having polled 314,921, while Adeleke’s score came down to 290,266.

Justice Kume also directed INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Adeleke and issue another one to Oyetola who, he said, won a majority of the lawful votes.e
