2 Korean Expatriates Abducted In Rivers Community Released After 2 Weeks- Police Confirms

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the release of two South Korean expatriates abducted, on December,12,2023, at location junction Egunughan community Emughan Clan in Abua /Odual Local Government Area of the State.

A statement by the spokesperson of the Rivers state Police Command  SP Grace Iringe Koko said on December 30,2023 the foreigners were released by their abductors due to the pressure mounted on them by Tactical teams and the military.

SP Koko added that investigation is ongoing.

It would be recalled that gunmen attacked troops of 5 battalion on routine escort duty on the same date, killing four soldiers and abducted the two expatriates.
