23 Year Old Drug Suspect Stabs NDLEA Officer

A  23-year-old drug suspect, Musa Usman, has been arrested for stabbing an officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Usman was taken into custody alongside his accomplice, Buhari Ya’u Bashir, 24, during a recent operation in Rahama Round, Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

In response to the incident, Muhammad Maigatari, spokesperson for the NDLEA in Kano State, stated that the operation team confiscated various quantities of illicit substances from the suspects.
According to Maigatari, the seized items included 1.1 kilograms of cannabis sativa, 8 grams consisting of 38 tablets of diazepam, and 59 grams made up of 165 tablets of Exol.

The statement revealed that Usman attacked the officers while attempting to evade arrest, resulting in the stabbing of one officer.

Condemning the assault, Abubakar Ahmad, from the NDLEA command in the state, affirmed that the agency would relentlessly pursue efforts to eliminate the use and trade of illicit substances in Kano.

He remarked, “Attacks on law enforcement officers in the line of duty will not deter us from carrying out our mandate to rid society of the scourge of drug abuse and trafficking.”
He added that the suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution by the NDLEA for drug-related offences and assault on an officer.
