Anambra Police Eliminate 2 Gunmen Who Killed Two Police Officers

Police said two members of a gang of hoodlums who killed two of its officers in Anambra State on 29 December were killed during a raid of their camp in Ogboji in Orumba South Local Government Area on Sunday.

Anambra Police Commissioner, Aderemi Adeoye, who confirmed this in an interview on Monday added that a 51-year-old lady was also rescued during the raid on the camp

CP Adeoye added that a Lexus SUV, four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) two Pump Action guns and 16 live cartridges.

He said the IEDs had been defused.

Adeoye said the manhunt for the assailants and every criminal element in the state would continue.

He restated the determination of the Command to ensure the security of all and urged residents and holidaymakers in the state to go on with their lawful activities without fear.
