Local Technician Electrocuted Inside Ceiling Of Popular Wine Bar In Rivers

Tragedy occurred on Wednesday 5th June,2024 at a popular wine Bar located at gas turbine road, Rumuekini, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state when an electrical technician simply identified as Austin said to be from Kogi State was electrocuted while carrying out repairs work in the ceiling of the facility.

We gathered that the staff of the wine bar where thrown into confusion on what to do immediately the incident occurred.

We learnt that some concerned neighbours had raised alarm after they learnt about the incident which prompted the management of the wine Bar to make a formal compliant at the Choba Police Division and officers were drafted to the scene to retrieve the corpse of the deceased and carry out on the spot assessment of the scene.

When contacted, Superintendent of Police(SP) Grace Iringe Koko, Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command confirmed the incident.

SP Koko said “yes I can confirm the incident. Police officers from Choba Police had visited the scene for preliminary investigation and further investigation is still on. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary”.

An eye witness who did not want to be named on print said the young man is from kogi state residing in Rumuekini Town, he was electrocuted this afternoon (Wednesday) in a popular bar called NBJ SPARKLING WINE BAR .
The bar is located at gas turbine road at Rumuekini and was in the ceiling since afternoon because  Neighbors didn’t know he died and wasn’t attended to making people around to raise alarm when they didn’t hear from him,  before reporting to police
