Gunmen Whisks Away Police Orderly, Driver Attached To Rivers Traditional Ruler

Some yet to be identified Gunmen have Abducted a Police Orderly and the Driver of a Paramount Ruler in Rivers community.

Report says unknown gunmen on Saturday night of 22nd June, 2024 abducted the driver and Police orderly of His Royal Highness (HRH) Chief Cornwell Ihunwo, Paramount Ruler of Rumu-Elechi community in Nkpolu-Orowurokwo, PortHarcourt along Eagle Island road at about 8PM.

Godstime Ihunwo,an executive member of Diobu Vigilante and Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Orowurokwo in an interview with Journalists said “I received a call about abduction of HRH Cornwell Ihunwo about 9PMon Saturday 22nd June, 2024.

“I rushed down to his house at EagleIsland where I met him.Chief Cornwell told me it is his driver and Police orderly who were abducted.

“We condemn the planned abduction of HRH Cornwell Ihunwo and call on the Police to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident”.

Investigation by our reporter indicates that Cornwell Ihunwo is immediate younger brother of Victor Ihunwo,former Chairman of PortHarcourt Local Government Area.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident, adding that investigation is ongoing but the Rivers state Police Command was yet to make official statement on the incident.
