APC Edo Gubber Candidate Hospitalized After Thugs Attacked His Convoy

The Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, has been hospitalized after thugs attacked his convoy on Thursday afternoon

The assailants, identified as members of the Edo State Security Network and alleged thugs led by Francis Inegbeniki, are reportedly sponsored by the Edo state government.

The unprovoked attack resulted in the death of one policeman and severe injuries to three others attached to Senator Okpebholo’s security detail.

The senator is receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Benin, while other injured members of his entourage are being treated in various hospitals across Benin City.

Godswill Inegbe, Legislative Aide to Senator Okpebholo, confirmed the incident and expressed concern over the escalating violence in Edo State’s political landscape.

The APC has called for an immediate investigation into the attack and urged authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures to protect political candidates and ensure a peaceful election process in Edo State.
