A thirty -one year old lady,one Blessing is now struggling for survival after his male neighbour,one Ejike,a married man and father of two children poured her hot water on her breast with splashes on the face.
We gathered that Miss Blessing,a hair stylist went inside their compound at Azikiwe street Mile 2 Diobu,PortHarcourt to take water she boiled in an electric kettle,so she can use it in treatment of the hair of a customer she finished braiding, when Mr Ejike’s Son ran into Blessing.
We learnt that as a result of the collision between Blessing and Ejike’s Son,some content of the hot water from the kettle poured on the ground and splashed Ejike’s son a little on the leg.
Our source disclosed that while Blessing was sympathizing with the little boy, Mr Ejike came out from his room and enquired what transpired.
The source stated that as other neighbours were narrating to Ejike what happened and Blessing was still sympathizing with the little boy,Mr Ejike took the hot water in the kettle which was on the ground at the back of Blessing and came to Blessing’s front,allegedly poured her the hot water on her breast which also splashed her face.
We further gathered that Mr Ejike ran away after committing the act while Miss Blessing was taken to Azikiwe Police Division, ilabouchi on Wednesday 23rd October,2024 where she was issued Police medical form and taken to hospital where she is receiving medical attention .
Meanwhile the family of Miss Blessing is demanding for justice on the matter.
The elder brother to Miss Blessing,Goodluck Nwankwo is a very brief speech with Journalists said
“We want the Police to get the young man arrested,then if he is arrested he will see what he did to my sister.
“Is not right,I have to do the necessary thing so that Government can take over the matter.I want justice to be done.
“Due to the medical attention they have given her yesterday, she is getting small better but the problem is the money in that place is very much,which I have spend a lot,I don’t have much to spend.
“I am thinking of if I have to go back to Anambra state and come back,may be on Saturday I come”
Our correspondent who saw Blessing reports that,the burns on the breast as result of the hot water is very severe.
The spokesperson for Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko was yer to respond to enquiry on the matter but multiple Police sources confirmed the incident.
As at press time, the Police is making frantic efforts to apprehend Mr Ejike who is still on the run.
