Suspected Ritual Killers Arrested in Ikire, Osun State

the Osun State Police Command has arrested eight individuals suspected of involvement in a ritual killing attempt in Ikire.

According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the incident occurred on July 26, 2025, at about 4:00 p.m., when three young men identified as Ismail Abiodun, 22; Usman Ademola, 22; and 16-year-old Faruq Abudu went to cut grass at Arademi Area, Ikire.

After the work, Abiodun and Ademola allegedly lured Faruq into a remote bush, attacked him, and cut open his abdomen in an attempt to remove vital organs. The suspects reportedly removed the victim’s scrotum but fled when he raised an alarm.

Police officers arrived promptly at the scene, rescued the injured teenager, and rushed him to a hospital before he was referred to the University College Hospital for further treatment.

Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the case: Ismail Abiodun, Usman Ademola, Yonke Akinwale, Fatai Abiodun, Fatai Sikiru, Tawa Inakonko, Idowu Adesina, and Awotunde Saudat.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the probe.
