FCT Police Command has advises residents to refrain from the sale, purchase, or use of firecrackers, knockout explosives, and other unauthorized pyrotechnics.
The Command shows deep concerned about the increasing circulation of these items across the Territory in a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Command Josephine Adeh sent to thetentaclesnews.com.ng
The Command said such firecrackers pose serious safety hazards, including injuries, fire outbreaks, and widespread panic thereby causing chaos in the society They also create opportunities for criminal elements to mask unlawful activities adding that beyond these risks, their indiscriminate use disrupts public peace and endangers vulnerable members of the community, particularly children, the elderly, and persons with underlying health conditions.
The Commissioner of Police Miller Dantawaye urged to comply with this advisory pointing out that Police operatives have been strategically stationed at different locations in the Capital territory and charged to enforce this directive and ensure that violators are arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
