Anambra CP Itam Presents 2-MonthScore Card, Arrest Over 200 Suspects, Recover 1,644 Bullets

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 200 suspects in the past two months, according to Commissioner of Police, CP NNage Obono Itam.

The Commissioner made this disclosure during his maiden press briefing at the Police Command Headquarters in Amawbia today.

CP Itam expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for the opportunity to serve as the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State.

He also provided updates on the Command’s law and order activities and achievements in the fight against crime in the state.

The Commissioner revealed that the arrests were made possible through the efforts of the Command’s tactical teams, who he said had been working tirelessly to combat crime and ensure peace and security in the state.

He noted that the suspects were arrested for various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and drug trafficking.

CP Itam also highlighted the Command’s successes in recovering weapons and vehicles from the suspects, including 20 AK-47 rifles, 50 pump-action guns, and 10 vehicles.

He assured the public that the Police would continue to work hard to ensure that Anambra State would remain a safe and secure place for all.

The Commissioner also announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at tackling drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

He appealed to the public to continue to support the Police in their efforts to combat crime and maintain peace in the state.

The briefing marked the 60th day since CP Itam assumed office, and he expressed delight in addressing the public on the progress made so far in maintaining law and order in Anambra State.

He also used the opportunity to thank the state government, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders for their support and collaboration.

The Commissioner’s maiden press briefing was attended by senior police officers, journalists, and other stakeholders, and marked a significant milestone in his tenure as the head of the Anambra State Police Command.
