Gunmen have attacked a police check point along airport road and shot dead two officers while others escaped with severe bullet wounds.

Responding to the inquiries the state public relations officer. Blessing Agabi said following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, promptly visited the crime scene to assess the situation firsthand. He also interviewed the officer who survived the attack and proceeded to the hospital, where he visited the injured officer currently receiving medical attention.
The Commissioner has directed a comprehensive investigation into the incident and reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are identified, apprehended and brought to justice.
