Gunmen Kills 4 Persons in Edeoha, As Cult Activities Resumes With Attacks In Ahoada East

There was pandemonium early morning Sunday october 20th, 2024 at Edeoha community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State as gunmen suspected to be cultists invaded the community and killed four residents.

We learnt that the gunmen suspected to be members of Iceland cult group invaded the community at about 2AM Sunday morning with sophisticated weapons and assault rifles shooting sporadically and went from house to house in search of their targets, killing four persons in the process.

Community sources disclosed that three of the killed persons are natives of Edeoha while the other one is native of Ekata community still in Ahoada East LGA but resides in Edeoha.

Intelligence sources reveals that the suspected Iceland cult members who carried out the killing came from a camp in a neighbouring community(name witheld) to carry out the overnight killing at Edeoha.

A native of the community who pleaded anonymity told our reporter the persons who were killed are not cult members but the attacked is believed to be have been carried out by cultists who may have been paid by mischievous persons to eliminate the four residents of unclear issues.

Checks by our reporter indicates that Edeoha community is accessible by road from Mbaima-Ahoada highway and also surrounded by creeks and rivers which makes hoodlums sometimes takes advantage of the porous accessible nature of the area

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer Grace Iringe Koko who is also a Superintendent of Police,(SP) confirmed the incident to our reporter.
SP Koko said “Yes I can confirm the incident, is cult related.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Mustapha has instructed the Ahoada Area Commander and the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) to commence investigation into the incident with a view to apprehending the perpetrators and making them face justice”
