How Delta Lawmakers Wife Escaped From Kidnappers Who Shot, Killed Her Driver With 2 Police Escort

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have shot and killed two mobile policemen and a driver who were escorting Mrs. Christy Uroye, the wife of a Delta State lawmaker, along Jakpan Road in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred on Monday around 7 p.m.

Eyewitnesses reported that the security personnel and the driver were killed instantly before the kidnappers took Uroye away.

“Unfortunately for the kidnappers, their getaway car crashed while they were escaping, which allowed the woman, who is married to Delta State House of Assembly Member Hon. Augustine Uroye, to escape,” an eyewitness recounted.

A distressing video has circulated on social media, showing the aftermath of the attack. The footage depicts the fallen policemen and the chaos around Uroye’s SUV, with passersby visibly grieving.
