Man, Daughter Die in Orazi Gas Explosion, 17 Others Injured, Goods, Properties Destroyed

In an updated information reaching our news desk , we gathered that gas explosion in Oroazi, Obio/Akpor Local Government has claimed the life of the breadwinner identified  as Ayo and his daughter.

The incident occured on Saturday  January 4, 2025

In a video video clip, Ayo and his little daughter had first degree of injuries with no one to assist them to the hospital.

The victim was seen entering the hospital with peeled skin and blood oozing out of his body. He sat on a long bench where he later slumped with no one to assist him.

It was reported that 17 people also sustained several degrees of injuries.

Just heard from someone that knows the man that fell inside the Hospital, he didnt make it. He also has lost one of his daughters. Really sad day. God Protect our loved ones.”

It was gathered that a gas cylinder had blown up when the operator was refilling the can and that fire had gutted from the explosion.

It was further learned that fire from the explosion spread so far, burnt some shops and goods of some business owners displayed outside.

A source privy to the development said some of the people affected in the fire were passerby who were close to the shop when the gas exploded and went into flames.

The source noted that all the victims of the gas explosion have were immediately rushed to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Emergency unit for urgent attention.

One of the x.com users said someone who knows Ayo told him he finally gave up along with his daughter.
