One Dead, After Easter Sunday Cult Clash In Mile 1 Diobu PHC- Police Warns Of Counter Attack

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a young man at Abakiliki street, Mile 1 Diobu PortHarcourt.
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command,Chief Superintendent of Police,CSP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident while responding to the enquiry by reporter.

CSP Koko said “yes I can confirm the incident. It is linked to intra cult clash between between members of a particular cult group in Diobu.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju has ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators with a view to bringing them to justice.Security has been re-enforced in the area as investigation continues”.

Investigation by our reporter revealed that the killing was as a result of a clash between suspected Doggies and White Eagle HOUSES of Deybam cult groups over territorial control.Another source very familiar with the incident told our reporter that the clash escalated on Easter Sunday leading to the killing of the man whose identity is yet to be ascertained due to a tussle for a young girl between two men who belonged to the two different Houses.


The Rivers State Police Command had severally confirmed intra cult clashes between BS and D12 Houses of Deybam cult groups in the last two years
The young man was shot dead by his assailants who drove on a vehicle, after leaving the store where he went to buy bread. The incident caused pandemonium as residents and passersby scampered for safety.

Police officers attached to Mile 1 Police Division later arrived the scene to retrieve the corpse of the man minutes after the gunmen have left.
