Peter Obi Donates Another $50,000 & 15,000,000 to Another Mission Hospital In Enugu

Former presidential candidate of the Labour party Peter Obi tweeted –

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of presenting Cheques of N75 million ($50,000 and N15 million) to Annunciation Specialist Hospital, Enugu. The hospital is, managed by the Daughters of Divine Love, DDL Sisters Congregation.

The $50,000 was generously donated by my friend and brother, Prof Philip Ozuah, while N15 million came from my humble self. The Annunciation Hospital is setting up a College of Nursing Sciences to boost the number of healthcare professionals in the country, as Nigeria, lacks basic medical care workers, especially nurses.

I am, therefore, glad to contribute to this noble project. While I appreciate the many kind-hearted Nigerians who have continued to advance the growth and progress of our nation, through their investments in our critical sectors of development, I encourage us to do more for the nation, not minding how difficult things are.

With our nation ranking so low in the Human Development Index, HDI, due to the neglect of the critical sectors of our development, we must not leave the full weight of nation-building for the government but contribute our quota to the nation.

I thank the proprietor, management, and staff of Annunciation Hospital, who through the years, have continued to improve in their healthcare delivery to the people.
